John and Lori Sliwinski, a husband-and-wife team, moved to Estes Park in July 2008 and began apprenticing with the village locksmith—a role that felt like a natural fit. By October 2009, they were exclusively managing and operating the business, enjoying the chance to provide a valuable service to the community, connect with the remarkable residents of Estes Park, and experience the beauty of the Rocky Mountain wilderness. In 2013, their dedication was rewarded when the village locksmith offered to sell them the business. Around the same time, a competing locksmith approached them with plans to retire, leading John and Lori to acquire both businesses. Thus, Estes Park Locks was born in August 2013. Today, John manages field operations while Lori oversees the office and phones.
